Making Profit from your Blog

The Internet Marketing has been around for a long time. The affects it had on the global arena is to be seen to be believed. It has become a very powerful medium for marketers with an immense scope of growth.

Well this is not an article on Internet Marketing but on making Profits from Internet Marketing.  To be more specific a particular tool of Internet Marketing which has evolved in the last 15 years to be now where it is.

What am I talking about? It’s BLOGS.

For those guys who are not sure what a Blog really is, that is to say you have heard the term but didn’t quite grasp it, here is a short history, before we move on to our main subject.

BLOGS, aka Web-logs are basically journal entries on the web by individuals called Bloggers. The entries can be on any topic as per the Bloggers interest and updating his/her web is called Blogging. The word “Weblog” was first coined by Jorn Barger in 17th December 1997. But somewhere around April or May in the year 1999, Peter Merholz jokingly broke down the word “Weblog” to “We blog” in his blog Peterme.com. Soon, Evan Williams at Pyra Labs popularized the term with the launch of their product “Blogger”.

Hope this was concise enough. OK, so now let’s focus on money making strategies by blogging. Since there are innumerable ways in which you can define and strategize to make profits for your blogs, I will be listing three very basic but none the less, powerful, ways of getting the most out your blog.

  1. Article Entries
  2. Writing Articles is an integral part of blogging. Some might even say the most basic part. So let me just jot out the most important part of your article, the “Resource Box”.

Resource Box holds information about you, your websites and your offers after they have you’re your article. It’s like the classified ad section of your page. The links in your Resource Box can lead to Affiliate or your own product or services offerings page. This not only gives your readers something of Value, i.e. the Article, but also helps you in marketing your products and services by getting them to click the links in your Resource Box.

  3. Product Reviews
  4. Writing Product Reviews is basically a Soft-Sell strategy. Provide your customers with the review on a product that you are personally recommending. Your personal opinion on the products followed by a link if your readers would like to further investigate on the product makes them appreciate your blog even more.

Throwing a Sales Pitch at your readers would make them wary. Providing them with your personal opinion and offering them an insight into the product would help them a lot in solving their problems and benefit you in the long run as a Blogger.

  5. Text Ads

Using Text Ad Programs is one the best ways of benefiting from our blogs. The two best Text Ad programs coming to my mind right now is Google Adsense and Affiliate Power Ads.

Both these Text Ad programs have a little different ways of operating. Google Adsense works on the principle of Pay-per-Click and shows related ads to the content on that particular webpage. However Affiliate Power Ads would make you earn up to $60 to $100 in commissions on a single click.

Both of these Ad programs are free to join and would take only a few minutes to set-up depending on your experience.

Well that is it. Perhaps not all, but to me certainly the most Important and Basic, 3 Profit making Strategies from Blogging, as an Internet Marketing tool. Let’s hope that this article acts as a contributing factor for you to seriously toy with the concept of Blogging.

  1. Terje Sannarnes@Entrepreneur says:

It is very important for a blogger to be aware of the fact that blogging is a long term project and it may take a lot of time before you begin to start making money on your blog.

    • Absolutely right, Terje. The amount of time and effort involved in blogging is a contributing factor too. There are some who give up, and some who persist.
Blogging is not some money making tool which works overnight. This is where patience pays.
Thanks a lot for your comment.

  2. Google ads don’t pay much but the blog owners can earn very well through the affiliate links placed on the website.

Does the Power Affiliate Power Ads has the capability to be configured manually for selection of program or does it work on pre-selected products?
