Social media is the broad term which covers about any kind of online place where people interact, and it has become a buzzword in technology these days. People are talking about the impact of social media and the way it is affecting our lives. Over the recent few years, social media has become a major part of the way most people communicate and interact. “Social Media,” however, is a broad term, and the effects of different social networks are different.
Facebook is by far the largest social network, with over 500 million active users. It allows people to stay connected, regardless of geographic location. It is a great tool for communicating with people we would otherwise not get to see. It also allows many adults to connect with childhood or school friends. Facebook’s effect seems to be that our social circles are wider, and that we have the ability to reach more people. One of the effects of it being so large is that so many people are on it. With most other services like , you might ask someone if they are a user or not. For many people, however, a Facebook profile has become a staple of social interaction.
Twitter takes a bit of a different model. Rather than attempting to incorporate many different applications and features for its users to share, it limits users exclusively to 140 character posts. Also, while Facebook is designed around having a circle of friends, Twitter is completely open and anyone can follow anyone. This makes communication between complete strangers possible. A common example of this is celebrities who get on Twitter and interact with fans. Facebook serves as a way to share detailed, personal information (security and privacy issues aside) with friends, which Twitter is more about the public conversation.
Blogs are different, but they have some aspects of both. Depending on how a blog is used, it can be either for communicating with close friends or broadcasting to the general public. Most commonly blogs are used as a general way to publish to the public, like Twitter, but they can communicate much more in-depth thoughts and non-textual media, like Facebook.
Facebook and Twitter are free, hosted services, and you can even post free ads using Keybrokersocial. If you prefer having a blog, you have to get a blog host and domain hosting. Although we interact in different ways with the different types of media, they all have some standard effects on people’s online life. For one thing, people are spending more time online – lots more. Also, online interactions are, to some extent, replacing face-to-face interactions. For most people, online social networking isn’t completely taking over normal human interactions, but it’s replacing a small part of them. It’s hard to say exactly where this will go in the future, but it looks like the internet will become even more a part of our lives as time goes on.

Most of the companies these days, are focusing more on Social media rather than SEO. I think the main reason for this is that it gives results more quickly whereas SEO takes time, and clients and business owners tend to prefer social media because of its faster reach to audience.
This is a very informative blog. Sharing your knowledge and providing us with refreshing idea is a big help. I learn so much on you. Thanks.
Social media sites have really taken the world by storm. They are also some of the best platforms for people to communicate and advertise their businesses. Facebook is king of the social media sites but Google plus and twitter have really been giving it some stiff competition.
I have made a new website “Funny Quotations” where i am not doing any seo and just SMM before launching my website i created a facebook fan page where i have keep people active on that page when i reached 15 thousand fans on my page i created a website to see how that page would help me to get traffic from my page and i have witnessed that Social Media Strategy Really worked for me now i am getting at least 800+ Unique Visitors on daily basis which is a terrific traffic!!!
Ohh thats great to hear Rafay. How did you reach that 15k fans on your fanpage?
Well Prasenjit the only thing i was continuously doing was engaging with people who have liked my page on regular basis although trust me it was the most hardest thing i have ever done updating after every minute was not that easy but i knew that once i will involve them with me so they will surely give me the output by visiting my website! and things i was mostly sharing were Pictures which have funny quotations on them so people usually viral them and the multiplier effect gave me a lot of likes from people who have shared those pictures too on there wall
Great Blog Post especially considering that Twitter just announced the use of business accounts for their network. With this new development business can use twitter to further their brand awareness.
Absolutely Mary. Twitter is a revolution and if used properly can virally spread brand awareness.
Yes social media is great but too many people get taken away with it and end up spending way too much time on sites like facebook. Really need to limit your time on all of these social sites.
This is a very true fact. Many of us spend a lot of time on Facebook getting deviated from our real goal most of the times.
Social media sites is a very important marketing channel, where internet marketers can promote their products and services. That’s why if you’re really serious of attaining success to your online business, it’s best to utilize social networking sites.
